Half of all seriously wounded people die within the first hour, most often from asphyxia or haemorrhage. Rigorous training in damage control saves lives.
In 2025, the Lviv training centre delivered 172 sessions and trained 1,878 health workers in war medicine, across ten different courses. A second operating theatre, opened at the Lviv Medical University vivarium in March 2025, doubled surgical training capacity.
Basic life support and bleeding control. For all health workers, who are often the first responders to a war injury.
