This three-day course was an extremely valuable experience for me, giving me not only systematic knowledge but also the practical skills essential for saving the lives of casualties in emergencies. The programme was very well structured, from the basic algorithms for assessing and caring for the wounded to practising complex procedures such as needle cricothyrotomy and intraosseous access.
I would particularly like to highlight the effectiveness of the modules on the CABCDE algorithm, managing critical haemorrhage, airway patency and treating shock. Practising skills as a team, together with real cases, gave us a better understanding of the logic of sequential actions in real conditions.
The modules on injuries in different locations — head, chest, abdomen, pelvis and limbs — proved particularly useful. Clear instructions, the emphasis on the SAMPLE and AMIS algorithms, and practising transport (board, stretcher, Kendrick) strengthened our confidence in our actions. The module on hypothermia, shock syndrome and burns also deserves special attention: this knowledge, often underestimated, is of crucial importance in complex situations.
Thanks to this course, I gained an overall view of caring for a trauma patient, from assessing the scene of the accident to transport. I have already started putting this knowledge and these skills into practice, which directly improves the safety and quality of the care provided.
I wholeheartedly recommend this training to everyone working in emergency medicine, tactical medicine or rescue: it builds confidence and develops the ability to act professionally in the most critical situations.
