In my work — I have been an emergency medical technician for several years — I have to make quick decisions every day. Sometimes I have only a minute, sometimes a few seconds. That is why I am constantly looking for ways to improve my level of preparedness.
The one-day BLS + BC training was not just another course, but an important upgrade of my skills. During the day, we covered the most important subjects: high-quality CPR, using a defibrillator, stopping massive haemorrhage with tourniquets, haemostatic products and improvised methods. No padding. No superfluous slides. Just a clear algorithm of actions and lots of practice.
I appreciated that they did not just repeat the basics but went further: how to analyse a situation, act as a team, assess risks. The instructors are true professionals. It was clear that they were not reading from a manual but speaking from experience. They answered every question honestly, shared their stories and supported each of us until the moves became automatic.
I especially want to thank them for setting up realistic scenarios: blood, smoke, time pressure. This is essential, because in reality nothing is as clean and orderly as in the classroom. Thanks to these simulations, the course passes on not only knowledge but also confidence.
This day was anything but useless. It made me a stronger professional, ready to act when every second counts.
I recommend this training to all my colleagues, especially first responders. These are basic skills, but vital ones.
