As a member of the GSHR “RESOURCES” team, I am sincerely grateful to have had the opportunity to take the “Pediatric Damage Control” course. This intensive, hands-on training gave me confidence in my actions when caring for injured children.
I was particularly impressed by the practical application of the MARCH PAWS algorithm and by the scenarios simulating a mass influx of patients. The course confronted us with realistic challenges: rapid decision-making, teamwork, clear allocation of roles and triage of patients using the JUMP SAR system. These exercises helped me understand the importance of coordination and effective communication in an emergency.
I also found the training in bleeding control, clearing a child’s airway and transporting the injured very useful. This knowledge is now an integral part of my personal training, and I feel ready to act with more confidence, even in the most difficult conditions.
This course gave me not only knowledge but also a deep sense of responsibility towards young patients, who are particularly vulnerable in times of war and during exceptional events. I am grateful to the instructors for their professionalism and support, and to our team for its cohesion and the mutual help shown throughout these two days.
