As director of the International Centre for Security and Development “RESOURCES” and commander of the GSHR, I particularly appreciated the two-day “Pediatric Damage Control” training. It proved extremely important for our team, as it systematically addresses the management of paediatric trauma according to the MARCH PAWS protocol and gives a clear understanding of casualty triage with the JUMP SAR system in mass-casualty situations.
I find it particularly interesting that the course was designed in such a practical way: applying algorithms for controlling critical haemorrhage, clearing the airway, invasive access, preventing hypothermia and managing shock gave participants real skills for treating paediatric patients. Working through scenarios, whether individual cases or mass admissions, proved essential. It brought out team dynamics, the role of the group leader and the importance of clear communication under time pressure.
As a manager, I see the direct usefulness of this course for our organisation: it allows us to better prepare our rapid response teams to work with children, to incorporate the specific features of paediatric trauma into our own training programmes and to develop suitable internal protocols. For the health professionals in our network, this training was not only a valuable source of knowledge but also a real practical guide for difficult situations.
I would like to thank the organisers and trainers for their professionalism, and for the relevance and clarity of their teaching. I am convinced that such training should be built into the training system for medical staff, especially for those working in front-line and high-risk zones.
