A community kitchen in Nertiti
Nertiti, a small town in central Darfur, is now home to tens of thousands of people whose lives have been shattered by the violence sweeping Sudan.
HuSoMe has teamed up with the Voice of Justice for Peace and Development Organization to open a community kitchen there for schoolchildren and displaced people. 350 meals and food parcels are distributed every day, over an operation lasting ten consecutive days.
Alert on Darfur
This action follows a public statement. After eighteen months of siege, the Rapid Support Forces took control of El Fasher, the last stronghold in the region outside their control.
Since its fall, testimonies and reports have multiplied of summary executions, rapes, looting and attacks on humanitarian workers. The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has recalled that such acts, if proven, could constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity. The World Health Organization confirmed that at least 460 people were killed in a maternity hospital.
HuSoMe denounced these atrocities and called on France and Europe to respond.
