Why water
In Gaza, the collapse of the public networks has left access to drinking water structurally inadequate. This is not a temporary shortage: production and distribution facilities are out of service, and displaced people are crowded into camps where sanitary conditions are deteriorating.
The consequences are medical before they are material. Gastrointestinal illnesses and skin diseases are among the most frequent reasons for consultation at our medical points. Distributing water means treating the cause upstream of the consultation.
What we distribute
HuSoMe distributes 22 cubic metres a day, i.e. 22,000 litres, to more than 1,000 families — around 5,500 people. Distribution follows the density of need: 12 cubic metres in the north, 10 in the centre and south of the Strip.
The project ran without interruption throughout 2025, adapting to conditions on the ground: closed crossing points, restrictions on financial transfers, population displacement.
With whom
Distribution was carried out first in partnership with HCDA (Health Care and Development Association), then directly by the Senabil association, which covers the north, centre and south.
This shift to more direct implementation mirrors what happened on the other Gaza projects in 2025: fewer intermediaries, greater operational autonomy, and closer control over what is actually delivered.
