On 9 March, the association HuSoMe held a charity iftar at the Cité sociale in Fameck, bringing together more than a hundred people who came to share a moment of solidarity and exchange.
The aim of the evening was to raise funds to support our humanitarian work in Gaza, a region hard hit by conflict, where medical and humanitarian needs remain immense.
A programme full of emotion and solidarity
After prayer and the breaking of the fast, guests shared a meal carefully prepared by a caterer, in a warm, fraternal atmosphere. The evening was punctuated by the Anachid Lorraine group and by several powerful and moving speeches:
- Professor Raphaël Pitti, president of HuSoMe, recalled the association’s values and missions, and the urgency of the situation in Gaza.
- Nurse Imane Maarifi shared her poignant testimony from the field, recounting her experience as a health worker in Gaza. A harrowing account that deeply touched everyone present.
- Imam Abou Omar gave an inspiring address, stressing the importance of solidarity in these difficult times and appealing to the guests’ generosity to support our work.

During the evening, several videos made by our teams were screened, showing in concrete terms HuSoMe’s work in Gaza. From water distribution to the project for orphaned children and the distribution of protein-rich food, these poignant images and testimonies of the work accomplished struck everyone in the room.
An auction for the children of Gaza:
A particularly moving moment of the evening was the auction of drawings made by children in Gaza. These works, full of hope and pain, touched the participants. All the funds raised at the auction will go to a future project specifically dedicated to children living in the camps.
