Despite the ceasefire, no respite for civilians: the situation on the ground in Gaza remains dramatic

It is more than a month since the ceasefire came into force. Many people think the situation has improved, which is far from the case.

Here is an overview of what civilians are living through:

1. The crossing points are still closed;
2. A shortage of food, and famine looming once again;
3. No reconstruction or clearing of rubble;
4. No tents or infrastructure to house the thousands of families whose homes have been destroyed and who live in dilapidated tents;
5. Very little medical equipment and medicine to treat people.

Hundreds of thousands of people still live in makeshift shelters that protect them from neither cold nor heat.

Nearly 80% of hospital facilities can no longer take in the wounded and the sick.

Hundreds of wounded people are still waiting for permission to be treated abroad.

HuSoMe keeps working, whatever happens

Thanks to your generosity, Humanité Solidarité Médecine (HuSoMe) works every day with the most vulnerable:

1. around 400 people treated every day,
2. 20,000 litres of drinking water distributed a day to displaced people,
3. a home for orphans in Gaza, for children who have lost their entire family.
