The École Privée Marie-Consolatrice (EPMC), a Catholic secondary school for girls in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, was founded in 1888 by the sisters of the Congregation of Saint Elisabeth. It offers an education of a quality comparable to public secondary schools, with individual support that fosters its pupils’ personal and professional development.
Traditional Christmas markets
Every year, the school hosts a Christmas market run by its pupils, who make and sell handcrafted items to raise funds for charity. These solidarity events are very successful, generating substantial donations for humanitarian organisations such as SOS Children’s Villages (€7,525 in 2024), Pharmaciens sans Frontières or the Fondation Elisabeth.
Commitment to HuSoMe
HuSoMe (Humanité Solidarité Médecine), a humanitarian medical NGO based in Metz with a presence in Luxembourg, is dedicated to training in medical emergencies in conflict-affected regions such as Gaza, Ukraine and Syria. Recent Instagram posts linked the association to the EPMC Christmas market, revealing that part of the proceeds from the November 2025 edition went to HuSoMe. This action continues the school’s philanthropic spirit, even though the exact amount remains confidential.
