In the heart of the Drôme there is a glimmer of solidarity and culture. Every year, the small town of Dieulefit hosts the “Palestine en Vue” festival, a committed event that showcases Palestinian cinema and life stories from this region struck by war, yet still rich in creativity and culture.
This edition was marked by the presence of Professor Raphaël Pitti, president of our humanitarian NGO, invited to give a talk on “the violation of humanitarian law”. A doctor who has worked in many theatres of war, notably in Syria, Ukraine and Gaza, he shared his expertise and his experience in the field.
The festival offered a programme of powerful films, carrying testimonies and emotion. Among them, “From Ground Zero”, a film featuring 22 Palestinian artists, drew attention. Praised for its authenticity, the film is a powerful portrayal of a people’s resilience and creativity, and is even in the running for the Oscar for best foreign film.
“Palestine en Vue” is not just a festival: it is a space for dialogue, culture and commitment. It reminds us of the importance of cinema in telling the unspeakable, defending human rights and making heard voices that are often silenced.
