After extensive experience in the French military health service, with operations in the Middle East, Africa, South America, as well as in the former Yugoslavia and Ukraine, Raphaël PITTI, founder of HuSoMe, has worked with various national and international institutions: NATO, OIPC Geneva.

Since 2012, its core mission has been the training of healthcare professionals in war medicine, including doctors, nurses, midwives, and medical students. In collaboration with the NGO UOSSM, more than 35,000 individuals have been trained.

Since the start of the conflict, Prof. Pitti has led multiple missions to establish damage control training centers to improve the management of victims by medical staff and emergency responders in war and crisis situations. Two centers have been opened in Lviv and Kharkiv, along with a recent pediatric damage control training focused on children, who are among the primary victims of the conflict.

In January 2024, the situation in Gaza led HuSoMe, together with UOSSM International, to set up four primary healthcare centers to ease the burden on overwhelmed hospitals facing a surge of casualties, and to support the civilian population in Gaza after months of bombardment.
